Lasagna Gardening Ingredients

For those of you who have come to my classes at The Dragonfly Shops and Gardens in Old Towne Orange here is a list of commonly available Lasagna Gardening Ingredients!  Craigslist and your neighbors are all great sources for finding these ingredients.  Just remember, this isn't about perfection, just keep it at the correct ratio approximately and have fun!

Alternate layers of ‘Green’ and ‘Brown’ materials for best results in an approximate 2:1 ratio or 2 parts Brown to 1 Part Green

Brown	Newspaper	6-10 sheets-ensure they are overlapping
Brown	Cardboard	1 layer-ensure it is overlapping
Brown	Wood Chips	1 inch or more
Green	Coffee Grounds	As available (also tea leaves or tea bags)

Green	Grass Clippings	1 inch or more
Green	Manure	1 inch or more
Brown	Sand	1 inch or more
Brown or Green depending on age	Compost	1 inch or more
Brown	Peat Moss	1 inch or more
