Book Review: Anathema by Colleen Coble

10 out of 10! Another Christian Amish story, a genre of which I cannot get enough of!  Colleen does a great job of weaving in the beautiful history and meaning of Amish quilt making as well as telling about the Swedish Amish and not just the Pennsylvannia Dutch so commonly found in stories.

This story is definitely one where you find a piece of yourself within it.  Learning to forgive unfathomable offenses is a key theme in this work.  Themes in this book are not suitable for young children (spousal abuse, murder, hate crimes and more are woven throughout the storyline), but would be a perfect book to give your daughter if she has started dating.  Lots of good discussion material about making wise choices.

Time to read: 4 hours (adult)
